The Dub Pistols – What Could Possibly Go Wrong

0003Project aim
Please help raise the final funding of £7500 required to complete and release the Dub Pistols documentary “What Could Possibly Go Wrong”.
‘What Could Possibly Go Wrong’ is a documentary that charts The Dub Pistols’ extraordinary journey from chancers to hot property to epic f**k-ups to unlikely triumphs…

Led by indefatigable south-Londoner Barry Ashworth, The Dub Pistols have lived every rock ’n’ roll cliche more vividly, knowingly and hilariously than almost any other British band. They’ve burned through record labels, band members, and hundreds of thousands of pounds with their almost heroic devotion to hedonism. Yet they have worked with heroes like The Specials, Busta Rhymes, Horace Andy, Madness and Gregory Isaacs, and have recently released their best album to date – ’The Return Of The Pistoleros’ out now on Sunday Best Recordings. And, after surviving 19 years, The Dub Pistols are busier than ever, having reinvented themselves as the ultimate Festival band, the go-to act to get a big crowd dancing.

“What Could Possibly Go Wrong, is about everything that’s ever happened to us, all the ups and downs, the victories and disasters,” says Barry. “I call us the most successful unsuccessful band of all time — and the hardest-working lazy b******s in the world. Sometimes I can’t believe we’re here, but we’ve survived and we’re doing better than ever.”

The finished documentary will be premiered in spring 2017.

We Love Beer

‘Forever Fiends’, they said, as they raised their glasses of rancid, foul-stenching ale. ‘How can thee forever be my fiend when thee buys be nowt but rancid, foul-stenching ale?’, asked one fiend. ‘Aye, fair point’, responded t’others. So they decided to take off their flat caps and do summit abart it.

Arned wi’ usual Yorkshire ingredients of a positive attitude, elbow grease and good honest hard graft – plus t’other ingredients for making ale – they went abart brewin’ up some magic and not just from their backsides this time. T’ingredients came together, helped along by their fiendship, and thee is now drinkin’ t’result.

Three Fiends sixth core beer called “Bad Uncle Barry” is being keenly awaited by ale enthusiasts who follow one of Huddersfield’s newest breweries. BUB is a 4.2% West Coast Pale Ale which is revitalising beer and fully loaded with hop-bursting flavours.

Beers named by Three Fiends always have a fiendish or a fiendship theme and we are delighted to produce our newest beer in collaboration with Barry Ashworth from Dub Pistols. For those who do not know Barry then he is bad – very bad. As Three Fiends, we are big fans of Dub Pistols and we could not be more delighted to have produced one of our best beers to date in the name of a musical legend.

To fiendship…. We like beer. We like good beer. We brew beer we want to drink and want our friends to drink. We hope you enjoy drinking it with your fiends too.

There is a new festival on the scene! Coming to St. Kilda, Melbourne this December, The Pleasure Garden will be like nothing you have ever seen before. An immersive, creative music and arts experience that has all the ingredients to become the premier arts and music event in Australia.
In its inaugural year The Pleasure Garden’s first announcement of artists includes The Cat Empire,Dub Pistols, The OPIUO Band, The Correspondents, Tash Sultana, Spoonbill, Dub Fx, Jakubi, Mista Savona, Boogs, Steve Ward and KODIAK KID. With many more to be announced.

Reminiscent of established UK festivals such as Bestival, Secret Garden Party and Boomtown Fair, Melbourne’s Pleasure Garden will be the first offering of its kind in Australia.
A diverse and unique musical programme, mischievous roving theatrical performances, inspiring art installations and large, themed stages. All set to a backdrop of picturesque parkland, complete with lush green lawns and shady Palm trees to relax under. An event filled with colour, movement, eye-catching
décor and art, carnival rides, and boutique cocktail and food options. Dedicated to creating nothing less than an extraordinary experience for the punter, The Pleasure Garden festival directors, are also excited to announce that the music will be delivered through the state of the art Funktion One Vero PA system. They are also utilising technology that will allow pre-emptive 3D soundmodelling and mapping, as well as delay towers and multiple speaker stacks to ensure the sound is delivered in its highest quality to the festival goer. This, plus rearfacing, noise cancelling sub arrays at the back of speakers and integrated acoustic paneling mean less noise spill and more volume on the dance floor!
