Larry Love joins Dub Pistols in the studio

Larry Love from Alabama 3 joined the Dub Pistols in the studio this week to lay down vocals on 2 tracks for the Dub Pistols forthcoming 5th studio album.

Alabama 3 are a British band mixing rock, dance, blues, country, and gospel styles, founded in Brixton, London, in 1995. In the United States, they are known as A3, allegedly to avoid any possible legal conflict with the country music band Alabama. The group achieved international fame when the producers of hit TV series The Sopranos chose their track “Woke Up This Morning” for the show’s opening credits.

Dub Pistols Barry Ashworth said “We had been talking about getting together in the studio for some years, so to finally make it happen is a dream come true” “Rob’s vocals are unique and the lyrics he has written are sublime. The man has real talent”

REHASH ALBUM

The Rehash album sees a number of high-profile remixers tackle classic Dub Pistols tracks from their last three albums. Ex-Leftfield man Paul Daley has re-made the second album’s title track, lilting stone cold classic ‘Six Million Ways To Live’, into a new wave electroid roller. Other remixers on the project include Matthew ‘Bushwacka’ B, one half of the acclaimed Layo & Bushwacka duo, and Wrong Tom, who has just released an album of dubwise reworkings of Roots Manuva’s back catalogue, as well as underground DJ/producer hotshots such as Ben & Lex and Kouncil House.

Rehash will precede the release of the next full Dub Pistols album – our fifth – on Rob da Bank’s Sunday Best label in April.
