This week’s guest on Life In The Stocks is musician, DJ, producer, and frontman and leader of the Dub Pistols, Mr Barry Ashworth. Matt went to Barry’s house last week for a cup of tea – how civilised – to discuss lockdown life, Ibiza in 1987 and the second summer of love, pills, partying, rave culture, the history of the Dub Pistols, working with the likes of Terry Hall, Rodney P, Busta Rhymes and Gregory Issacs, and bunch of other crazy tales from his storied life and career.

The latest single to be taken from the forthcoming Dub Pistols album ‘Addict’ is here and available now.
Drawing on the problem of gang related gun crime from a disenfranchised youth, ‘Dark Days Dark Times’ was one of the first songs recorded for the album and highlights how austerity and its effects, like closing youth clubs etc, has driven kids onto the streets and into these gangs.
The tracks emotive message, delivered by Mc Navigator & Seanie T, flows harmoniously over atmospheric production and haunting backing vocals and gives us a further glimpse into what’s to come from the highly anticipated studio album.
