Barry Ashworth, leader and main driving force of the act Dub Pistols, spent the best part of the last decade at the forefront of futuristic musical culture, giving sets that have defied classification constantly on a specific genre and have amazed crowds from all countries and at all festivals known to man (Glastonbury, Bestival, Camp Bestival, Beatherder, Creamfields, Boomtown, Guilfest, Electric Picnic, etc.).
Barry is one of the co-owners of Westway Records and producer in a variety of aliases. He was one of the first residents at the world famous Fabric club in London, and resident at Manumission – the biggest brand in Ibiza parties.
So expect nothing less than an awesome cross genre musical experience as the ‘Dub Pistols’ sound encompasses slices of Hip-Hop, Ska, Breakbeat and more!

Dub Pistols Barry Ashworth has been confirmed to be resident dj at next year Altitude Festival in Mayhofern from March 26th – 31st
Set in the fabulous skiers paradise of Les Trois Vallees – the largest skiing area in the world – right in the heart of the French Alps, (predominantly Meribel but also in Val Thorens and Courcheval), Altitude has to be the funniest show on snow.
With amazing powder skiing and boarding by day in beautiful warm spring conditions and fabulous entertainment by night, Altitude has become the destination for those who are serious about their winter sports but want their après ski to be riotously entertaining. Hosting both the prestigious elite of comedy and the cream of up-and-coming stand ups, Altitude is the first chance to check out brand new material from some of the best comedians around before they take it on to the Edinburgh Festival.
Perfect snow conditions, panoramic views from the mountain tops and some of the best runs in the world make this resort a skier and snowboarders paradise. When not partaking all the family can check out the professionals at snowsports events such as the Jib session which attract the best pro riders from around the world. For those of a less serious disposition join in with the Wacky Races, fancy dress, three legged ski races, snowball fights and expression sessions. Fun for all the family.
With over 50 shows and events after skiing this week long comedy, music, ski and snow party is the perfect way to end a day on the hill and in this case the perfect end to the almighty alpine ski season.
DUB PISTOLS head gunslinger Barry Ashworth will make his Trystonbury Festival debut this friday 23rd September 2011
Trystonbury is a party to celebrate the end of the festival and outdoor party season, held as close to the Autumn Equinox as possible. Like the Secret Garden Party, Trystonbury’s origins are as a private birthday party for the site’s owner. The festival’s name combines the owner’s family name with a part of Glastonbury (as a byword for a festival). This year’s event is from Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th September. A small and well-kept secret, the festival is held on a patch of ancient woodland in Berkshire steeped in history and folklore, a truly magical place which through the centuries has been the site of a medieval hermitage and much later, a royal residence. An invitational event now in its 7th year. 2011 is the second year that the event has invited a few more friends and 200 tickets made available.
After last years sellout show @ The Soul Cellar the Dub Pistols are pleased to announce they will return to Southampton again on 22nd of October for some more madness .

Toots and the Maytals, the legendary Reggae innovators, and one of the greatest bands of its kind the world has ever seen, are coming to London to play a packed Brixton Academy.
To celebrate this amazing event, top Brixton nightclub Jamm and popular Bass Music promotion crew THEM have teamed up with Toots himself, to make sure the vibes can continue into the night.
With such a legendary Reggae act, we are proud to have the opportunity to present the best possible Reggae music talent from right here in the UK, all under one roof. As Takes on a slightly more after hours take on the sound, to up the volume and push the tempo. London pays homage to these originators, with the fruits of their influence. Donation made to the Toots Foundation, Toots’s own charity providing aid to under-privileged youth in Jamaica.

The Dub Pistols(live) – headlining our night is the infamous Dub Pistols. The Dub Pistols play on that other famous Jamaican sound, Dub, combined with big beat sounds, and Ska revival influences to create live music which Is concentrated party dynamite.
Don Letts – Credited as the man who brought together Punk and Reggae music, Donn Letts has since become a legendry DJ and figure in London’s music scene. Also a hugely accredited filmmaker, Don Letts continues to bring parties alive with his DJing, and we are very pleased that Donn Letts has agreed to come and play homage to Toots and the Maytals by doing so.
The Heatwave – The UK’s number one Dancehall Bashment sound. Everywhere they go it’s a carnival. For a whole hour its going to get tropical in Jamm. Who says pull up?
Reggae Roast – One of London’s Flagship Reggae Soundsystems, well known for their popular East End parties cruise across the land from playing Bestival to smash the dance.
The Drop (live) – Having previously supported Toots & the Maytals live, The Drop are also one of David Rodigan’s favorite new UK Reggae live acts. A full 7-piece live show with horn section and some awesome tunes, one of which has seen airplay on Kiss FM an Giles Peterson’s Radio one show.

Bestival have announced that DUB PISTOLS head honcho Barry Ashworth will perform a dj show on the Afterburner stage on sunday evening, Barry is one of the few artists that has had the honour of performing at every Bestival and Camp Bestival since the festival started.
Arcadia’s arena has been one of the undisputed highlights of last two years at Bestival. A 360 degree DJ stage which shoots giant 30ft flame balls from its spire and is surrounded by 12 fire breathing lamppost tree sculptures, along with high-powered lighting… and all beating in time with the music played by a DJ.
It’s back for 2011 but in a new location deep into the campsites.
Also back for 2011 are the legendary Lords of Lightning – two guys who harness 4 million volts of raw electricity… and then fire it at each other… using their heads. Check this to see what we mean!
