watchet_festival_logo-1THE first bands have been announced for the Watchet Music Festival 2018.

The popular festival is returning to Parsonage Farm after a year break on August 24-26 2018.

This week the organisers have announced four bands joining the line-up for the festival including reggae, rock and roll, punk and folk.

From The Jam, which is lead by bass player Bruce Foxton of British mod/punk heroes The Jam.

The festival organisers say they received more requests for From The Jam & Dub Pistols to be booked than any other artist.

Renowned British reggae band Aswad will be performing their adventurous fusion of musical styles including dancehall, funk, hip-hop and dub.

British rock ‘n’ rollers The Dub Pistols will also be returning, while Ferocious Dog will be bringing their mix of punk and folk to the main stage having first performed in Watchet in 2012.

They will be joining Faerground Accidents, Jack Humphries, Kioko, Mesh, RSVP Bhangra and there are still many more acts to be confirmed

With over half of all publicly available tickets sold before a single act was announced, Watchet 2018 is set to continue the festival’s tradition of completely selling out in advance.

A spokesman for Watchet LIVE, the Community Interest Company which organises the festival, said: “Those wishing to camp on site are particularly encouraged to buy their tickets as soon as possible, as more than 70 per cent of camping tickets have already sold out.

The organisers are also looking for volunteers to help out with stewarding, helping to put up and dismantle the stages, rubbish collecting, on-site maintenance and marshalling.

Volunteers work a maximum of six hours per day and will get free tickets to the festival. If you are interested email volunteer@watchetfestival.co.uk.
