Loosen your belts and stock up on Alka Seltzer, Christmas season is coming at us quicker than Fritz the bratwurst guzzler on a taboggan! This means our annual shindig at one of London’s swankiest venues, Somerset House, is nearly upon us.
With the best ice rink the capital has to offer, a classic wintery setting that could rival even Mayrhofen’s chocolate box cuteness and mulled wine that will blow your ear muffs off, there really isn’t a better Chrimbo experience available. To cap it off, we’ve rounded up a gaggle of Snowbombing legends of past and present to dust off their favourite seasonal records and bring a slice of Snowbombing to Skate.

Dub Pistols frontman, Snowbombing veteran and all round magical elf Barry Ashworth is set to bring the Dub Pistols Soundsystem for a set of seasonal dub and jungle classics (apparently he has a ska version of Jingle Bells) whilst we’ll be the edging the mistletoe over the pretty head of disco diva Sophie Lloyd, who’s seen more Snowbombing’s then Wolfgang the 79 year old Penken lift operator. Chuck in fellow disco elf Guy Williams of Studio 45 fame and we have the makings of a Christmassy carnival of funk drenched fun to accompany your graceful glidings across the deck (or more likely, you’re clumsy crashes into the walls).
Seeing as it’s the season of goodwill and we’ve gathered a collection of heritage heroes of the ‘hoff, we’re urging all ‘bombers from down the ages to get a ticket before it’s too late and join in with the seasonal goodwill down at ye old Somerset House. Fancy Dress won’t be frowned on (this is Snowbombing after all), we think long gloves, mink ear muffs and fur coats are the order of the day!
So let’s link up on the 11th for a Yuletide yarn with tales of great Alpine anecdotes and lashings of Mulled Wine…good will to all ‘bombers!
